United for Hope – Chautauqua County Walk

September 12 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Walking Together. Remembering Together. Moving Forward Together.

Join us for United for HOPE – Chautauqua Walk, a powerful morning of connection, remembrance, healing, and hope as our community comes together to support suicide prevention and honor the lives of those we love.

As the Out of the Darkness Walk is no longer taking place in Chautauqua County, United for HOPE provides an opportunity for our community to continue gathering locally in support of suicide prevention, suicide loss survivors, and those who may be struggling. We are proud to join neighboring communities in Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties in creating opportunities for people to come together in hope and remembrance.

Whether you have been personally impacted by suicide, are walking in memory of someone you love, are supporting a friend or family member, or simply believe in building a stronger and more connected community, there is a place for you here.

Throughout the morning, participants will experience opportunities to reflect, connect, celebrate loved ones, and strengthen the sense of community that helps people heal and thrive.

The event will feature:

  • A community walk through beautiful Ellery Town Park
  • “Today We Honor” tribute signs recognizing loved ones
  • Community partner resource tables
  • Music and entertainment
  • Photo booth
  • Healing and wellness activities
  • Family-friendly activities
  • Opportunities to connect with others who understand the importance of hope, support, and community

Honor Someone Special

Participants will have the opportunity to honor loved ones through our “Today We Honor” tribute display. Names submitted during registration will be featured throughout the event as we remember those who continue to live on in our hearts, stories, and memories.

Fundraising for Hope

This year, we’re inviting individuals, families, friends, businesses, and community groups to help us go beyond the walk and become part of the mission.

Funds raised through United for HOPE help support the ongoing work of the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County, including:

  • Sudden Loss Care Team services for families impacted by suicide loss
  • Lock & Talk suicide prevention and firearm safety initiatives
  • Suicide prevention education and training programs
  • Support groups and grief resources
  • Community outreach and awareness efforts
  • New and innovative programs designed to strengthen connection, belonging, and hope throughout our community

Every dollar raised stays local and helps support programs and services right here in Chautauqua County. Through the generosity of participants, donors, sponsors, and fundraising teams, we are able to continue expanding programs that provide support, education, connection, and hope throughout our community.

The Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donation receipts will be provided for eligible tax-deductible contributions made in support of United for HOPE and our fundraising efforts.

Start a Team. Walk Together. Honor Together.

When you register for the walk, you will receive an email with a personal fundraising link that allows you to create your own team.

Teams are a meaningful way to bring family members, friends, coworkers, classmates, neighbors, organizations, and community groups together for a shared purpose.

Are you walking in honor or memory of a loved one?

Creating a team allows everyone walking in their honor to register under the same team name. Not only does this help raise funds to support local suicide prevention efforts, it creates a visible tribute to the people we carry with us every day.

Friends, family members, and businesses can support your fundraising efforts through tax-deductible donations, helping your team make an even greater impact in our community.

Throughout the event, we will recognize and celebrate the teams that come together to support hope, healing, remembrance, and community.

Whether your team consists of two people or twenty, every step taken and every dollar raised helps make a difference.

Participants who raise $100 or more will receive a complimentary event t-shirt. Additional shirts will be available for purchase for $25.
